1. Introduction
Welcome to Overite! By signing up and using our platform as a content publisher, you agree to the terms outlined below. Please read them carefully. These terms govern your use of the Overite Publishers dashboard, mobile application, and all related services.
2. Account Requirements
- You must provide accurate personal and contact information during registration.
- Your profile must be fully set up before publishing content.
- Each publisher is allowed one account only. Duplicate accounts will be suspended.
- You must be at least 18 years of age to register as a publisher.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
3. Identity and Name Changes
Users are required to register with their legal names as they appear on their Bank Verification Number (BVN) or official Bank Account. This ensures transparency and security for payouts.
Once registered, a display name is considered "Verified." Any subsequent request to change a verified name will incur an administrative processing fee of 5,000 NGN. Overite reserves the right to deny name change requests that do not match official identity documents.
4. Publisher Access Fee
To maintain the quality of the Overite community, a one-time, non-refundable Publisher Access Fee of 2,000 NGN is required upon registration.
5. Content Policy
- Only tech-related content, tutorials, DIY articles, and blogs are allowed on the platform.
- All content must be original. Plagiarism in any form will result in immediate suspension.
- You must provide proper attribution and credit original sources for all referenced work.
- Content must be accurate, truthful, and not misleading to readers.
- Content must not violate copyright, trademark, or intellectual property laws.
- Content must not be defamatory, hateful, discriminatory, or promote violence.
- Content must not contain spam, malware, or deceptive material.
- Content must not promote illegal activities or violate applicable laws.
- Overite reserves the right to review, reject, or remove content that violates these guidelines.
6. Content Ownership
You retain full ownership of all content you publish on Overite. By publishing on our platform, you grant Overite a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content across the Overite platform and its partner networks.
7. Earning & Monetization
- You earn based on the number of views and engagement your posts receive.
- Earnings are generated through advertising revenue shared with eligible publishers.
- Minimum payout thresholds apply and may vary by payment method.
- Overite reserves the right to adjust revenue share rates with 30 days notice.
- You may include affiliate links, subject to review and approval.
- Fraudulent clicks, traffic manipulation, or artificial engagement will result in immediate suspension and forfeiture of all associated earnings.
- Payments are processed on a monthly cycle, subject to verification and approval.
8. Sharing & Promotion
- Publishers are encouraged to share their posts across social media platforms to increase visibility and earnings.
- Unshared posts may receive reduced visibility and lower earnings.
- You may use the in-app share feature to share content directly to social media, messaging apps, or copy the link.
9. Privacy and Data Collection
We collect and process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws. As a publisher, we may collect:
- Account Information: Name, email address, profile image, job title, company, phone number, and social media profiles.
- Content Data: Post titles, categories, publication dates, images, and engagement metrics.
- Payment Information: Bank account details processed securely through third-party payment providers.
- Analytics Data: Page views, visitor demographics, and content performance metrics.
- Device Information: Push notification tokens, device type, and platform (collected only with your consent).
Your data is used solely for platform operations, improving your experience, and processing payments. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
10. Device Permissions
The Overite Publishers mobile app may request access to the following device features:
- Camera: Used for capturing profile photos directly within the app.
- Photo Library: Used for selecting and uploading profile images and content media.
- Biometric Authentication (Face ID / Fingerprint): Optional feature for quick and secure login. Biometric data is stored on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers.
- Push Notifications: Used to notify you about new comments, post approvals, earnings updates, and important platform announcements.
- Network Access: Required to sync your content with the Overite platform and load your dashboard.
All device permissions are optional and can be managed or revoked at any time through your device settings.
11. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Profile settings page within the app or dashboard. Upon deletion:
- All your posts, articles, and published content will be permanently removed from the platform.
- All your books and chapters will be permanently deleted.
- Your payment history and earnings records will be deleted.
- Push notification tokens and device registrations will be removed.
- Your account profile and associated data will be permanently erased.
- This action is irreversible and cannot be undone.
- Any pending payments not associated with fraudulent activity will be processed within 60 days before deletion is finalized.
12. Account Suspension and Termination
Overite reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account under the following circumstances:
- Violation of any terms outlined in this agreement.
- Publishing plagiarized, infringing, or policy-violating content.
- Engaging in fraudulent activity, including traffic manipulation or fake engagement.
- Multiple policy violations on your account.
- Failure to pay required fees.
- When required by law or regulatory authorities.
Upon suspension, you will be notified via email with details of the violation. You may appeal the decision within 14 days. Upon termination, outstanding legitimate earnings will be paid out within 60 days.
13. Limitation of Liability
Overite provides the publisher platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We are not liable for:
- Loss of revenue due to platform downtime, maintenance, or feature changes.
- Content removal due to policy violations or legal requirements.
- Third-party actions that affect your published content.
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from platform use.
- Technical issues beyond our reasonable control.
14. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, policies, or legal requirements. Significant changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the platform after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
